Missions

The Mission's Offering Projects are not designed for you to bring in extra money or items. This is our way of keeping you informed of where the money is going that your child is depositing into the ATM. You can use it as another way to talk to them about how we can obey God by giving our tithes & offerings.

December - March: Lemidius

Did you know that Kid City has been sponsoring a child in the mountainous community of Bugando, Tanzania for almost 6 years? We sponsor Lemidius through Compassion International

Lemidius is one of 3 children and lives with his mom and dad. His dad and mom both find employment when they can by selling items in the marketplace. Most adults are unemployed where Lemidius live and those who do work earn the equivalent of $16 per month. Lemidius loves rolling a hoop, playing soccer and singing. Because of our support, he is able to attend a school and help provide for his family.

May - November: Operation Christmas Child

Every Fall, the T&T Kids (in our Awana program), have a special night of packing boxes for Operation Christmas Child with our youth group. This year the kids will be packing boxes just as a T&T group. We met our goal and packed 100 boxes!

Operation Christmas Child has delivered more than 100 millions boxes in 130 countries since 1993! Through the power of a simple shoebox full of gifts these children have experienced God's love!

The offering from these months will be used to purchase items to go into the boxes.

March - April Offerings: Soles4Souls

During the months of March & April, the offering collected in the Kid City ATM will go toward Soles4Souls (www.soles4souls.org). This non-profit organization provides shoes to the poorest people from Appalachia all the way to Tanzania. A $1 offering represents 1 pair of shoes being delivered to a child.

January - February Offerings: Food for Riverview Kids

The offering brought in during January & February was used to fill re-useable bags with enough non-perishable food for a weekend for children who are hungry. There are many children at our adopted school, Riverview Elementary, who receive free breakfast and lunch, but then do not have much to eat on Saturday and Sunday. The bags had enough for a family breakfast, lunch & dinner, plus extra snacks. We were able to fill 11 bags for kids who would have had little to eat on the weekend otherwise.

December's Offerings: H2Go! Project - Water for Life

During the month of December, the offering collected in the kid's ATM (Automated Tithing Machine) went toward  H2Go! - a project of Compassion International's Water for Life program. The H2Go! Project provides water filtration systems for families in countries where clean water is not available to them. Each filtration system lasts 50 years for the family. The cost is $79 per system and includes education on healthy living and a presentation of the Gospel. Kid City's goal is to purchase two filtration systems. You can check out Compassion International's website for more information.

Kid City brought in enough money during this time to purchase two water filtration systems! Another Kid City family donated the money for a third system. Thank you for teaching your children about being generous with the money God has given to them.
